The Bridges at Mission offers a quality senior housing and care option, with a special focus on promoting and supporting wellness, dignity, respect, and independence for those served.
We are a community of professional caregivers dedicated to providing a warm, safe and secure environment where residents can live their lives to the fullest.
It has been said that, without respite, the caregiver becomes the second victim of the disease. Since we understand this, we want our family members to feel confident that their loved ones are in good hands, without having to experience the physically and mental exhaustion that comes with caring for a family member at home.
What Makes The Bridges at Mission Different?
Licensed for both Traditional and Alzheimer’s Care
The Bridges at Mission was the FIRST Home in the Rio Grande Valley to be licensed to provide Alzheimer’s and Traditional Assisted Living Care.
Superb Reputation for Quality of Care
The Bridges at Mission enjoys a superb reputation for quality of care. Over 80% of new residents are referred to us by existing residents or their families. Check out our Google Reviews.
Plentiful Activities and Interaction
The Bridges at Mission has two activity programs, one in Memory Care and another for Traditional Care.
Less Expensive than Other Assisted Living Homes
The Bridges at Mission costs less than other assisted living homes. We charge a FIXED fee per month, even when residents progress in their needs. Other assisted living homes charge “a la carte,” meaning they start with a base charge and increase their monthly fees as resident’s needs increase.
Being locally owned and operated allows us to work in a more personalized way with our residents and their families, to meet their individual and financial needs.
Next Door to Mission Hospital
Emergencies can be met more efficiently.
Community Programs for CareGivers
The Bridges offers two programs which are free and open to the public:
Alzheimer’s Support group meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 2:00 pm. Topics vary based upon the group’s needs and/or suggestions.
Stress Buster Classes are given by Well Med for caregivers. This program teaches stress management techniques, as well as relaxation and coping strategies.

The Montreal Dementia Scale provides caregivers an overview of the stages of cognitive function for those suffering from dementia. It is broken into 7 stages with stage 1-3 being defined as pre-dementia stages. Beginning in stage 5, an individual can no longer survive without assistance or is at risk of flight. Stage 7 is very severe cognitive decline whereby vocabulary is limited, there is a loss of ability to walk, and requires help with eating.
Our Monthly Fee Includes:
- A full range of assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, plus incontinence care.
- Three balanced meals a day plus snacks. Specialized diets can be made.
- Individualized laundry service to ensure residents’ dignity and privacy.
- Medication management. The Bridges manages both the dispensation of medications and reordering as needed.
- Transportation to doctor’s appointments once per month, accompanied by a member of our staff.
- Free cable and free internet
Circle of Joy & Music Program
The Bridges uses individual MP4s in the Memory Care wings, giving residents the joy and ability to listen to their own favorite music.
Music opens reasons to live
Circle of Joy
The Circle of Joy is an active music-making program that gives our residents the opportunity to express strong emotions, display individuality and flare, and engage with fellow residents.
Where no words are needed…
The imagination and creativity of older adults can flourish in later life, helping them to realize unique, potentials. Art experiences can supply them meaning and purpose in supportive, nonthreatening ways. Our classes are designed to work with each one of our seniors according to their skill level.
I really enjoy living at The Bridges thanks to the wonderful staff and their great care. Both the staff and residents are very respectful and easy to get along. I love relaxing, interacting and participating in the daily activities they provide for us. One of my favorite activities is the circle of joy. The Bridges at Mission is a beautiful place, and the food is great!
The Bridges At Mission is a great place where I can leave my father during the day while my mom and I do our daily activities. I am extremely comfortable leaving him here because I know they have a wonderful and caring staff. My father loves it here, he tells me he enjoys the company of the other residents and the care of the staff a lot. His favorite activities are bingo and eating the delicious food they serve here.
I’m delighted to be able to live at The Bridges at Mission. I’ve been fortunate to have been able to enjoy this lovely place for two and a half years. What I enjoy most is singing, and I’m delighted we get to do so in the activities the staff prepares for us. Everyone in this place is beautiful, and loving people that take great care of me. I’m very grateful with God for having put this place in my path so I can live peacefully.
I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy living at The Bridges at Mission for six wonderful months. What I like the most about this Home is the care and attention we receive from the staff. They are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we’re comfortable and safe. I love the fact that there are so many activities to keep ourselves busy, but we get to choose if we want to take part in them, or sit back and relax. My favorite activity is Art. The teachers encourage us to paint and draw, even if we think we can’t do it right, they guide us. If you need Assisted Living, and are looking for a great place, look no further and come live with us at The Bridges!
I cannot thank you enough for all the love & care The Bridges gave to Mimi during her 4 years. The peace of mind I always had because I knew Mimi was in the best care facility around was & always will be remembered.
Thank you so much,
